Local Regulations

Some courses have special conditions which apply to them and are to be enforced for ALL events using these courses. These conditions are contained within the Local Regulations, listed below, which have been approved by the National Committee (under National Regulation No. 47). Details appropriate to the course MUST BE PRINTED ON EVENT START SHEETS, to give notice to competitors.

4.1 E64/10 Course

No parking at start or finish points, except for timekeepers. After finishing riders must continue along the A1170 to turn at the next roundabout.

NO ‘U’ TURNS ALLOWED.

4.2 All Courses Starting or Finishing on a Clearway

No vehicles may be parked at the start or finish, which is on a clearway, nor on the verges adjacent.

4.3 All E91 Courses

4.3.1 Competitors are not allowed to warm up along the B184 between the Aythorpe Roding village hall and Great Dunmow prior to or during an event.

4.3.2 Any rider passing to the right of the painted circle at Leaden Roding mini roundabout will be disqualified from the event and reported to the District Secretary for consideration of disciplinary action.

4.4 All E9 Courses

4.4.1 Any rider passing to the right of the painted circle at Leaden Roding mini roundabout will be disqualified from the event and reported to the District Secretary for consideration of disciplinary action.

4.5 All Courses Based on Trunk Roads (A11, A12, A13, A14)

4.5.1 A competitor must not warm up on any part of the course after the event has started. Any competitor doing so shall be disqualified from the event and may face further disciplinary action.

4.5.2 A competitor must not move out of the first (inside) lane of any multi-lane carriageway to complete the course. Any competitor doing so shall be disqualified from the event and may face further disciplinary action.

4.5.3 A competitor must not cross the central reservation of a dual carriageway, either on foot or astride a cycle. Any competitor doing so shall be disqualified from the event and may face further disciplinary action.

4.6 All Courses in L.E. Area

4.6.1 Marshals placed to direct competitors off the main carriageway MUST NOT stand at the apex between the carriageway and the slip road, but should be located at the start of the slip road.

4.6.2 NO ‘U’ TURNS are allowed within sight of either the start or finishing points. Riders carrying out this dangerous manoeuvre are liable for disqualification from the event and further disciplinary action by the District Committee. NOTE. This applies to all events including club events and it is recommended that someone is designated to act as a judge at the start and at the finish – do not rely on the Timekeepers.

4.6.3 Body numbers to be situated at the event headquarters, for ALL open, semi-open and association events.

4.6.4 Static Trainers. In respect of consideration for local residents, the use of static trainers, e.g.. turbo trainers, is banned from all morning events held in the London East District.

4.6.5 Riders are reminded that dropping litter (such as energy gel wrappers) is a criminal offence and offenders will be liable to disciplinary action by the District Committee.

4.7 Event Cancellation

Any promoter who wishes to cancel an Open or Association event prior to the day of the event must first consult the District Secretary or Chairman for approval.
